Meet Miracle Child, Max Crouse
In January 2006, Amy and Ryan Crouse were expecting their first child, Max, when they learned he would be born with complex heart defects. Max has undergone three open heart surgeries. The first surgery was when he was four days old. He then had a second surgery when he was six months old, which was followed by his third and most challenging surgery when he was two years old.
Although Max’s heart will never be completely fixed, today he is an active, healthy boy and is closely monitored by doctors at Penn State Hershey Children’s Hospital. He may need a pacemaker in the future but today he enjoys swimming, flag football, and playing outside with his little brother.
Many of the pieces of specialized pediatric equipment used to treat children like Max are provided by the Children's Miracle Network. Your donation to CMN truly does help to make miracles happen!
